Can Con Update: April 22nd - 28th

Listen to Simon & Devang discuss the possibility of a WTA & ATP merger below.

Another week passed means another week without tennis, as we wait for the sporting world to resume, but Canadian tennis players have been keeping themselves plenty busy. Games are underway at the Mutua Madrid Oopen Virtual Pro, and Caroline Wozniacki has gotten off to a strong start, winning her first two matches to clinch victory in her round robin group. Denis Shapovalov fell 4-3 to Rafael Nadal in a thrilling match and now stands at 0-1, while Genie Bouchard has yet to play.

The tournament may be happening online, but Bianca Andreescu isn't slacking on the entrance, walking out to Drake & adding some finger stretches to her warm-up routine. She fell 0-3 to Wozniack in her first match, but rebounded to defeat Madison Keys 4-3 in her second match, ending the day at 1-1.

Rising star Leylah Annie Fernandez has been keeping up with her workout routines, and looks almost ready to join the cast of Jump In.

5th ranked Canadian male Steven Diez has been staying active by converting his garage into an a mini-indoor tennis court. While I'm sure Steven and all of the other athletes can't wait to get back on the the court, this is a clever solution for the moment.
